The sentient inhabitants of the Llof all belong to the species Rasvrisu, but are further subdivided into Asiuluiam, Dakiuzuiam, and Yelluam (see the section below for their biological background). There is also a distinction between the so-called “Civilized” Rasvrisuam, a term which refers to those living on the cloud plain, and the Free Tribes, nomadic people living in the other dimensions. The Civilized Asiuluiam primarily inhabit the Asiulvesacam, while the Civilized Dakiuzuiam live in the Cloud Palace. Yelluam are found in both places. The Free Yelluam nation was also founded by them, and includes Asiulen and Dakiuzen minorities. All Rasvrisuam share the same nature religion centering around the four elements earth, water, fire, and air.

The Civilized Asiuluiam are a loud, colorful and lighthearted people. They take much pride in being open-minded and accepting and not excluding someone for being “different”. This is, however, not entirely true. In fact, the Asiuluiam try to fit in by sticking out: If you do not dress extraordinarily or have some weird hobbies and interests, you are boring, and the Asiuluiam are not so open-minded and accepting towards people they find boring. Thus, they live a loud, crazy, fast-paced life and try to exceed each other in being “different”. This leaves many people behind. They also have a long negative history with racism against the Yelluam. Still, they are a people you can have a lot of fun with, and are generally curious, interested and forgiving when it comes to awkward and impolite behavior, but will also be very direct and quick to criticize.

The Civilized Dakiuzuiam, on the other hand, are far more restrained in their behavior. They are a quiet, reasonable, hard-working people. They have stricter social norms than the Asiuluiam and and are more conservative with respect to social conformity. On the other hand, they are also very polite, easier to be reasoned with and more prone to changing their opinion when convinced otherwise. They never displayed the same open hostility towards Yelluam that the Asiuluiam did and have long integrated them into their society. This is why the amount of Yelluam living in the Cloud Palace is much higher than on the Asiulvesacam, and why the Cloud Palace has very good relations with the Free Yelluam. Unfortunately, the Dakiuzen people itself is deeply segregated, as the bottom of the Cloud Palace, the “Underground“, is a huge crowded slum with a high crime rate, whose population lives well below the poverty line, has no access to formal education and no Cloud Palace citizenship.

Finally, the Yelluam are not really a people by themselves, since they live everywhere, and usually fit into the society they are a part of. Still, they share the collective experience of racism and hostility towards them, and living with the disabilities they were born with (see below for more on that). As such, they usually have less interest in preserving the animosity between Asiuluiam and Dakiuzuiam and are the advocators of peace. The Free Yelluam nation was founded initially with the aim to provide a safe haven for discriminated Yelluam, and is now the only place where Asiuluiam and Dakiuzuiam live together in peace.
