The Balconian Islands
The Balconian Islands are an archipelago in the Ocean Dimension that is inhabited by the descendants of Asiulen settlers that left the Asiulvesacam not long after the Dakiuzuiam were driven away to the Cloud Palace. Balconians speak Balconian Ric, a sibling to Capital Ryka, and have their own writing system (itself a descendant of the Early Ryka script). The Balconian islands are a self-governed monarchy, and do not belong to the Asiulvesacam. They are a popular holiday destination of the Civilized Asiuluiam though.
The archipelago consists of three main islands: Balconia (ger. Balkonien), Banania (ger. Bananien), and Lappalia (ger. Lappalien). From the names you can already guess that the Balconian Islands are not to be taken entirely serious (yet). We invented them in high school as a vacation resort for our role play characters, and they have yet to be fully integrated into the more serious version of the conworld. The names of the islands are all puns: Germans might say they spend their vacation in Balkonien when they actually mean that they stay at home on their balcony. Bananien obviously derives from Banane “banana” (a lot of banana trees grow there). And Lappalie (Lappalien being the plural form) is a German word that means bagatelle. Despite their goofy origin, the Balconian Islands have long played an important part in my conworld, so I plan to rework their story (and names) eventually.
